Anti-Israel nonsence! (CIDI)

Sept. 5, 2017

Christians in Defense of Israel is calling on the State Department to retract their recent report that wrongly blames Israel for fostering Palestinian terrorism against Israeli citizens and blames the Jewish State for stalling the peace process. The State Department’s malicious anti-Israel report is total nonsense.

Many of the Department of State’s recent actions indicate that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Department of State are fostering anti-Israel sentiment and undermining President Trump’s stated pro-Israel policies.

Earlier this month, the State Department hosted leaders from the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations, which included organizations that promote “‘extreme anti-Israel views’ and ‘anti-Zionist’ propaganda, according to the Anti-Defamation League, which tracks anti-Israel hate groups” according to the Washington Free Beacon.

“The meeting has prompted concern among pro-Israel leaders close to the Trump administration, who say the summit is part of a larger effort by anti-Israel organizations to drive a wedge between the Trump administration and Israel at a critical juncture.”

It has also been reported that an “open political war” is brewing between the State Department and the White House due, in part, to Obama administration holdovers directing Middle East policies originally crafted under former President Obama — operatives that Secretary Tillerson has allowed to remain at State. That is certainly bad news for U.S. – Israeli relations.

+ + The U.S. State Department is promoting lies that impact Israel!

In June, Secretary Tillerson told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that the Palestinians had changed their “Pay to Slay” policy of paying terrorists and their families. That statement was immediately declared false by Palestinian leadership.

Questions remain why the U.S. State Department’s outrageous “Country Reports on Terrorism 2016” recycled parts of its earlier reports that intentionally whitewash and overlook the Palestinian Authority’s agenda for violence.

Instead of providing careful assessments of the PA’s recent incitement to violence against Jews, State officials put a Obama administration arm around Palestinian terrorists and pointed the finger at Israel for creating an environment that fosters terrorism against Israeli citizens. And the report ignores the Palestinian “Pay to Slay” policy and other incentives for violence against Israel.

Last week, Palestinian Authority President Abbas issued a statement through the PA’s Facebook page, defiantly declaring, “I will never stop [paying] the allowances to the families of the prisoners and released prisoners, even if this costs me my position and my presidency.”

As the State Department closes its eyes to the Palestinian Authority’s open support for violence, it only gives terrorists a green light to continue.

+ + Petition delivery Thursday!

While the question of the State Department’s Middle East policies are justifiably called into question, Christians in Defense of Israel is calling on Secretary Tillerson to retract the “Country Reports on Terrorism 2016,” – and to get their facts straight before reissuing a revised report. The response to our call will be among the indicators of the State Department’s true position on Palestian terror.

Join us in working to right the State Department’s blatantly biased report that will certainly fuel further acts of terror and increase animosity toward the Jewish state.

This CIDI petition will be delivered on Thursday to Secretary Tillerson, key members of Congress, and Ron Dermer, Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S.

P.S. The State Department has indeed gone rogue regarding Israel and the Middle East conflict. Rep. Peter Roskam, co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus, recently condemned their report in a letter to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

Christians in Defense of Israel joins with Rep. Roskam in confronting the U.S. State Department for their “numerous mischaracterizations.”
