Politico is reporting that “Senate Democrats are preparing to put Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks through a grinding confirmation process, weighing delay tactics that could eat up weeks of the Senate calendar and hamper his first 100 days in office.”
Hearings commenced this week in Senate committees for President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees. As expected, Democrat obstructionists are pulling out all of the stops to delay the confirmation processes.
+ + A blatant double standard exists in the Senate.
As reported by the National Review, “By the time of his inauguration, [President] Obama had nominated cabinet heads for twelve of the 15 executive-branch departments. Of those nominations, the Senate unanimously confirmed five and confirmed another five in broadly bipartisan votes in the span of a mere six days at the end of January.”
Townhall’s Guy Benson reported that the Democrats are tripling down on their battle plan:
+ + Help us stand against the obstructionists!
This is your opportunity to weigh-in on President-elect Trump’s Cabinet nominations and embolden senators to overcome the barriers. We plan to deliver the petition responses to selected committee leaders ahead of the Senate’s first confirmation votes.
