Egyptian Christians afraid to attend Easter services

From the Desk of:

Dear Friend,

The deadly suicide bombings at two churches in Egypt are the latest horrifying examples of Christian persecution in the Middle East. ISIS claimed responsibility for the heinous Palm Sunday attacks that killed more than 40 people celebrating the start of Holy Week.

Now, we’re receiving heartbreaking reports from a Christ-centered partner in Egypt that some of our Christian brothers and sisters in the region are afraid to attend church on Easter Sunday. Many believers, however, refuse to let ISIS evil steal the joy and hope of the Resurrection. Here’s an update from our front-line Christian partner:

It’s important to show our brothers and sisters in Egypt that we’re standing with them. We received this urgent message from one of our field officers on the ground:

We love Egypt.
We will not leave Egypt.
We cast out the spirit of fear by the power of His love.
We will go to churches on Easter and beyond to worship the Name of Jesus.
We will spread out the light we were given by His grace, in every street, village, town and city.
We will keep praying for all Egyptians, especially for those dark minded, brainwashed and misled so that our Father may cleanse their minds and hearts.

This short message captures the heart of many believers who face violent persecution in the Middle East. The Christian community in Egypt is brave and resilient, but they are hurting and need your encouragement.

Liberty Relief International (LRI) wants to help men, women, and children facing oppression and brutality in the Middle East.
