After finishing our oral arguments against ObamaCare, I have recorded a special audio message for you to hear about Liberty Counsel’s showdown with Department of Justice attorneys.

It was my great privilege to carry into court the prayers and support of well over 80,000 patriotic men and women who signed our Amici Book.

Just minutes before my oral argument began, Anita emailed our staff that she was seated at our counsel table with the Amici Book in front of her.  I can tell you that the power generated through the prayers of friends has literally been the wind under our litigation team’s wings!

Words can’t describe the overwhelming sense of support and strength I felt knowing that many tens of thousands of our friends were praying for our litigation team and me.

In fact, Anita and I spent time paging through the Amici Book in our hotel room last night. We both felt it amazing that friends from virtually every community in the nation stepped forward to pray for us during this momentous hearing! We even have friends in North Pole, Alaska, praying for us and this case!

There are hundreds of pages, each containing hundreds of names, in the Amici Book.  We have never felt more privileged (and deeply humbled) to represent the interests of patriotic Americans!

We literally felt the presence of God in this hearing and know beyond all doubt that the battle is His!

I was also mindful during the hearing of the profound responsibility we have to the multiplied millions of Americans who are hoping that our case, being on the forefront of private-party lawsuits against ObamaCare, will ultimately bring about the demise of this outrageous socialist power grab.

Now, we await the court’s ruling and anticipate heading to the Supreme Court sometime in the coming months.

The Obama administration’s maniacal political will to force healthcare “reform” on the American people – whether it is ruled constitutional at this level or not – gives us every reason to believe they intend to take this battle to the highest level.

*He attempted to implement a nation-wide demonization of peaceful pro-lifers using false charges.

*He tried to force the hiring and advancement of unqualified candidates to achieve racial quotas at the Fire Department of New York (FDNY) – but lost in court. He has since attempted to do the same in other jurisdictions.

*He filed a brief at the Supreme Court claiming that the government could regulate the hiring practices of church-based religious schools.  Thankfully, the High Court ruled against Perez’ advice.

*Perez protected minority thug groups like the New Black Panther Party, while interpreting voting protection laws to “not cover white people.”

*Perez has been involved in highly questionable “quid pro quo” deals that are still under investigation.

President Obama wants to promote Thomas Perez to Secretary of Labor where he will oversee the federal agency responsible for enforcing employer non-discrimination laws, hiring practices, and fairness in the nation’s workplaces! Thomas Perez has twisted the rule of law to advance his own agenda.  His radical pro-union and pro-immigration policies have been deemed dangerous to American businesses. I can’t imagine a more biased, racially charged, pro-Big Government, anti-business, anti-recovery Secretary of Labor than Thomas Perez.

On Thursday, there is a critical vote scheduled in the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee taking place on Perez.  The committee vote has been delayed twice due, in part, to the many controversies surrounding Perez that are being investigated by various congressional committees and agencies. Several committee members are on the fence about Perez and I want to be sure that we help them make the right choice! I am urging all members of the Liberty Counsel Action team to take immediate action with me to stop the Perez nomination before it gains further momentum!

The House Committee on Energy and Commerce has released a shocking study showing that ObamaCare will dramatically hike the insurance premiums of Americans, depending on age and applicable mandates, as much as 413 percent!  In this chilling report, the findings show Americans paying 73 percent more for those keeping their existing plans and 96 percent more for those getting a new plan.

On the day President Obama signed the laughably named Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act into law, he declared… “This legislation will also lower costs for families and businesses.”

The conclusion the House committee reaches stands in stark contrast to President Obama’s promises. “The internal documents provided by the insurance industry confirm many of the concerns voiced over PPACA: Despite promises that the law will lower costs, the PPACA will in fact cause the premiums of many Americans to spike substantially. The broken promises are numerous, and the data reveals that many Americans, from recent college graduates to older adults, will not be able to afford the law’s higher costs.”

The Achilles Heel of ObamaCare’s implementation has always been that the price tag was ridiculously underestimated in order to make the “sale.”  Massive cost overruns were always inevitable.

Of course, affordability isn’t the only reason why Liberty Counsel has been engaged in a four-year legal and legislative battle to end ObamaCare.

This heinous law also promotes the greatest advance of abortion in America since Roe v. Wade; it undercuts every American’s rights of conscience and religious liberty; it will inevitably destroy, not enhance, the most advanced medical system in the world; and it will bring down the world’s last, best hope for self-government under a Constitution of the people, by the people, and for the people.

++As 2012 came to an end, the U.S. Supreme Court breathed new life into our lawsuit against ObamaCare.

On Nov. 26, 2012, the High Court signaled that a majority of Justices were interested in revisiting the constitutional issues we raised and the Court remanded Liberty University v. Geithner to the appeals court for rehearing.

I will re-argue the case at the Fourth Circuit on Thursday and then we may well be back before the High Court later this year.

Liberty Counsel is challenging (1) the employer mandate; (2) the abortion mandate for religious employers; (3) the abortion mandate for individuals; and (4) the entire law, because tax bills must originate in the House and Harry Reid launched ObamaCare in the Senate.

If we are successful, the employer mandate will be struck down. ObamaCare not only fails to exempt all employers of conscience who do not want to pay for abortions, but it mandates that all taxpayers pay for other people’s abortions through a compulsory insurance surcharge. While ObamaCare is a major threat to life and liberty, there is increasing hope that we can bring down this giant in court!

Fox News is reporting that California may be setting a precedent to help states offset the exorbitant costs of ObamaCare…

To try to keep premiums low, some states are allowing insurers to charge patients a hefty share of the cost for expensive medications used to treat cancer, multiple sclerosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other life-altering chronic diseases.

Such “specialty drugs” can cost thousands of dollars a month, and in California, patients would have to pay up to 30 percent of the cost.

What happened to the “Affordable Care Act” (ACA) promised by the very name of the ObamaCare legislation? It will simply never be as affordable as originally sold to Americans. In fact, I believe the ACA, left to its course, will ultimately bankrupt our families and our nation.

Where was President Obama on Mother’s Day? Out reselling ObamaCare to the public!

Sunday, President Obama was campaigning for ObamaCare. The nation’s Salesman-in-Chief told his audience not to be “confused” or “bamboozled” by critics of his signature achievement.

The fact is, over half of all Americans admit they don’t understand ObamaCare. And my sense is, neither does more than half of the legislators who passed it into law! Otherwise, they would never have voted for such a monstrosity. They were, in the President’s words, “bamboozled.”

Correcting this confusion is why the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) must spend an initial amount of $150 million of our taxpayer dollars to resell the increasingly unpopular law and begin “training” people how to enroll in ObamaCare! But that first installment won’t be anywhere near the cost of the full-on propaganda campaign we will soon see.

“Confusion” doesn’t begin to describe American citizens’ thoughts toward ObamaCare right now. Here’s how one of ObamaCare’s chief architects, Senator Jay Rockefeller, is now describing the law…

“I believe that the Affordable Care Act is probably the most complex piece of legislation ever passed by the United States Congress. Tax reform obviously has been huge too, but up to this point, it is just beyond comprehension… [The ACA is] so complicated and if it isn’t done right the first time, it will just simply get worse.”

That’s why Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius has been soliciting funds from industry leaders, community groups, and other private organizations to help pay for the indoctrination of Americans into accepting the realities of ObamaCare. Her tactics have raised the eyebrows of many legislators concerning the legality of her actions.

We are 48 hours away from a historic legal battle. We are coupling our legal argument with intense prayer.

Last week, ABC News’ investigative reporter Jonathan Karl released a scathing report exposing 12 different versions of CIA talking points that now prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that the White House and the State Department knew almost immediately that the 9/11/12 attacks in Benghazi, Libya, were committed by terrorists and that al-Qaeda was involved.

On Friday’s Good Morning America, Karl reported that the talking points were massively edited and intentionally directed that…

“References to the Al Qaeda-affiliated group Ansar al-Sharia be deleted as well references to CIA warnings about terrorist threats in Benghazi in the months preceding the attack.”

Karl further said the major changes in the talking points…

“…show that many of these changes were directed by Hillary Clinton’s spokesperson at the State Department, Victoria Nuland. In one email she said that information about CIA warnings ‘could be used by members [of Congress] to beat up the State Department for not paying attention to warnings, so why would we want to feed that…’”

Friday’s White House Press Conference became a very uncomfortable dance for Press Secretary Jay Carney because the mainstream media reporters, usually staunch Obama allies, have finally been forced to cover what we’ve known to be true all along – Obama lied and people died.

Carney has now been exposed as a brazen liar. His performance last Friday of trying to maintain the cover-up in the face of irrefutable facts was remarkable in both its breathtaking hypocrisy and complete lack of character.

Hillary Clinton is also under increasing fire.

Even more damning is the now apparent false testimony then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton made to the American people following the attacks – and to Members of Congress before two meetings with congressional committees.

Remember when Clinton defiantly asked congressional leaders, “What difference at this point does it make?”

On Mother’s Day, Pat Smith, mother of murdered Benghazi victim Sean Smith, sent a message to Hillary Clinton, saying…

“I want to wish Hillary a Happy Mother’s Day. She’s got her child. I don’t have mine, because of her.”

State Department employee and now whistleblower, Eric Nordstrom, told Congress through his tears…

“It matters to me personally, and it matters to my colleagues at the Department of State. It matters to the America public for who we serve and most importantly, it matters to the friends and family of Ambassador Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty, and Tyrone Woods, who were murdered on September 11, 2012.”

Clinton may be deposed to appear before Congress again – this time under oath.

Last week, Speaker Boehner called on the President and State Department to release “unclassified interagency e-mails so the American people can see them.”

“Our committees’ interim report quotes specific e-mails where the White House and State Department insist on removing all references to a terrorist attack to protect the State Department from criticism for providing inadequate security…”

It is high time for Members of Congress to establish the 19-member Select Committee Representative Wolfe has proposed to uncover the truth!

We are encouraged that Darrell Issa, Chairman of the House Oversight Committee, plans for more hearings to be held with more whistleblowers coming forward, but what is needed is a Select Committee and the same attitude that brought the Boston bombers to justice!

Last week, Senator Jay Rockefeller issued this alert to the Obama administration…

When NBA basketball player Jason Collins recently announced to the world that he’s sexually attracted to other men, Michelle  Obama tweeted, “So proud of you, Jason Collins! This is a huge step forward for  our country. We’ve got your back!” Jason even got a personal call from the  president.

Lovely.

In a statement released last week, President Obama’s Pentagon threatened  military personnel: “Religious proselytization is not permitted within the  Department of Defense … Court Martials and nonjudicial punishments are decided on a case-by-case basis.”

Although the Pentagon has walked back its new anti-Christian “proselytizing” policy within the realm of  public relations (a policy drafted in concert with foul-mouthed atheist and anti-Christian bigot Mikey  Weinstein) the DoD has yet to offer evidence that it intends to walk it back within the realm of application.

Merriam Webster’s defines “proselytization” as an attempt “to recruit or convert especially to a new faith, institution, or cause.” Sounds an awful lot  like the Pentagon is threatening to court-martial any service member who obeys Christ’s central command to “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all  creation” (Mark 16:15).

Hard to read it any other way.

And so, to any member of the armed services who is harassed, demeaned,  reprimanded or charged by this Obama Pentagon with obeying Jesus – with  endeavoring to “recruit or convert” others to His exclusive saving grace – we at  Liberty Counsel are delighted to say, “We’ve got your back!” Pro bono. I’ve got news for Barack Obama. In America, serving God and serving country  are not mutually exclusive. They never have been. In fact, until this president  came along, the two went hand-in-hand.

In his farewell address, George Washington underscored the critical role  religion and morality play to our nation’s survival. He warned of people like  Barack Obama and Mikey Weinstein. “Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports,” he said.

“In vain would that man claim the tribute of Patriotism, who should labor to  subvert these great pillars of human happiness, these firmest props of the  duties of Men and Citizens. …[R]eason and experience both forbid us to expect  that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

It seems the central goal of this president and his Pentagon is to do that – to “subvert religion and morality” wherever they find it. George Washington called that unpatriotic.

I agree.

Mark Twain once wrote, “The secret of success is making your vocation your  vacation.” Twain’s sage advice seems a slight variation of Ecclesiastes 9:10: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might …” In short, if you  want to find happiness, find what God created you to and do it well. Do what you  love and you’ll love what you do.

I love working for Liberty Counsel. I’m incredibly blessed to part of one of the fastest growing (if not the fastest growing) civil rights organizations in America.

Every brave service man or woman I’ve ever known loves serving this great nation. Every Christian I’ve ever known loves serving the one Holy and Sovereign  Creator of the universe – King Jesus.

If President Obama or any other anti-Christian radicals believe the American people are going to just lie down and allow them to rip God from country, they’ve got another thing coming.

I’m always proud of what we do at Liberty Counsel, but, having served 12  years in the military, I’m especially proud right now. It can’t be easy, laboring under an incompetent commander in chief who, over and again, has  displayed overt hostility toward Washington’s “indispensable pillars” of  religion and morality. It can’t be easy to serve under a president who constantly attacks your faith and freedom.

“It is beyond ironic that this administration chose to attack the religious  liberties of the men and women who are charged with defending our nation’s freedom across the country and around the world,” Staver said.

“The military has a unique relationship with chaplains in order to meet the  spiritual needs of our soldiers. To threaten court-martial to anyone who shares  their faith is reprehensible and un-American. This absurd policy will undermine  the military and destroy morale. It must be rescinded immediately, and those responsible for instituting it should be  disciplined.”

But until then – and once again – to those in the military, don’t forget:  Stand tall and proclaim your faith loudly and proudly. If Obama tries to muzzle you, don’t sweat it. Liberty Counsel’s got your back.

A procedural tactic was employed on Thursday by those opposing Thomas Perez’s nomination to once again delay the vote by the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee. Grassroots pressure is making this confirmation much more difficult than liberal progressives in the Obama administration imagined.

There’s good reason the President’s candidate is drawing fire: Thomas Perez has been called the “most extreme cabinet nominee in the last seventy years.”

Senator Mitch McConnell made these scathing remarks about Perez…

“His willingness, time and again to bend or ignore the law and to misstate the facts in order to advance his far-left ideology led me and others to conclude that he’d continue to do so if he were confirmed to another, and much more consequential, position of public trust.”

The Left’s racial agitators argue that conservatives oppose Perez because of his Hispanic heritage. I assure you that Perez’s ideologies, not his heritage are the source of contention. Senator Marco Rubio, Florida Republican and also Hispanic made that point perfectly clear:

“For a Cabinet position that oversees the country’s workforce, our nation deserves a proven administrator who is committed to maximizing opportunities for the American worker, not a liberal activist who has pushed the boundaries of public office to advance his agenda.”

We must continue working together to oppose the confirmation of Thomas Perez, a radical’s radical!

The committee has already delayed the vote twice due to controversy and investigations surrounding this radical nominee. Liberty Counsel Action hopes that he’ll get three strikes – and then he’s out!

No one President Obama has advanced to candidacy for Senate confirmation is more of a committed socialist change-agent than his nominee for the position of Secretary of Labor.
