Yesterday afternoon, the Senate confirmed David Friedman as the next U.S. Ambassador to Israel. The vote was close, 52-46, and primarily along party lines. I believe that the scores of CIDI friends helped make a difference by sending thousands of messages to senators. Thank you!
David Friedman’s confirmation helps bolster CIDI’s campaign to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem!
Thousands of grassroots Americans are calling on President Trump to keep his campaign promise and move the U.S. Embassy to the Holy Land’s ancient capital, Jerusalem.

Below is a reminder why it would be a bad choice for America and her strongest ally in the Middle East if the president fails to act quickly and move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Israel’s true capital of Jerusalem — Mat.
Following the news of David Friedman’s confirmation, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted, “New US ambassador to Israel David Friedman will be warmly welcomed as President Trump’s representative and as a close friend of Israel.”
Now, with the success of his confirmation, Christians in Defense of Israel will once again push for President Trump to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. Mr. Friedman is a strong proponent of the move. Upon his nomination, Mr. Friedman said he looks forward to working “from the U.S. embassy in Israel’s eternal capital, Jerusalem.” Although President Trump is facing powerful resistance to the move, we must not accept a backtrack on this campaign promise. Here are several reasons why:
• Reneging would damage the credibility of his presidency!
President Trump repeatedly promised on the campaign trail that his administration would move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Reneging on a weighty promise to the many pro-Israel Americans would certainly undermine the credibility of his presidency.
• Reneging would create more turmoil in the Middle East – not less and damage the president’s foreign policy efforts.
Further, in his inaugural address, the president vowed to, “unite the civilized world against radical Islamic terrorism, which we will eradicate from the face of the Earth.” Delay or failure to move the Embassy to Jerusalem will be seen as a sign of weakness that will embolden those intent on wiping Israel off the map. It would send a signal to radical Islamic factions that the Trump administration will cave to their threats of terror. It would also send a message to our allies that the Trump administration’s promises can’t be trusted.
• Moving the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem would send a powerful message to the world that we stand with Israel and their right to choose their capital city.
The city of Jerusalem is not just the rightful capital of Israel, sacred to the Jewish people, it is also home to the holiest places of the Christian faith. Jerusalem was established by King David as the capital of Israel 3,000 years ago. To not recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel defies the historical record and is anti-Semitic.
That’s why you and I must make our voice heard now. Christians in Defense of Israel’s petition calls for the Trump administration to stand against these external pressures and move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem. Click here to immediately add your name to this important petition
+ + Moving the embassy will not damage the Middle East peace process!
Those who oppose moving the embassy to Jerusalem argue it will hurt the so-called peace process.
The fact is the Hamas terrorist government in Gaza and the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah do not want peace and will never recognize Israel’s right to exist. That is the biggest obstacle to peace! Israel does exist and Jerusalem is its capital. It is time for the United States to move the embassy to Jerusalem and lead the way for other nations to follow our example.
As a patriotic American and friend of Israel, I am joining with tens of thousands of other pro-Israel Americans to support President Trump in the plan to relocate the American Embassy to Jerusalem, the rightful and eternal capital of Israel. The Jewish people have the same right as every other nation to determine their own capital, and we support that right!
