From the desk of:
Mat Staver, President
Christians in Defense of Israel
Yesterday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu laid Iran’s nuclear programs bare when he revealed a cache of documents secretly obtained that he says “conclusively prove that Iran is brazenly lying when it says it never had a nuclear weapons program.”
In 2015, then-President Obama, Secretary of State Kerry and Democrat lawmakers signed the “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” (JCPOA). The highly controversial deal infused billions of dollars into Iran’s economy that could be used to sponsor terrorism around the globe, including the United States.
The deal provides an eventual pathway toward nuclear armament for Iran– a nation which openly declares its intent to destroy Israel. Plus, accountability of Iran’s adherence through inspection is limited, scheduled, and cannot be requested by the U.S. unilaterally. President Trump has repeatedly denounced the agreement calling it “a bad deal for the United States.”
Today, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) aka the Iran Nuclear deal remains a dangerous agreement and poses a direct threat, first to Israel, but also to the United States.
That’s why Christians in Defense of Israel is urging President Trump, along with Members of Congress, to use their constitutional authority to end the deal and re-impose stiff sanctions on Iran as a deterrent to this radical Islamic regime.
+ + Amad: a hidden danger.
Contained in the documents was information on a project codenamed Amad, a “comprehensive program to design, build and test nuclear weapons.”
Iran is calling the documents “propaganda,” but U.S. officials have confirmed their validity.
Newly installed Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, “I know that there are people talking about these documents not being authentic. I can confirm with you, for you, that these documents are real, they are authentic.”
Pompeo added: “The United States is with Israel in this fight… The nuclear deal gives Iran a clear path to producing an atomic arsenal.”
+ + May 12, a looming deadline
President Trump has until May 12th to determine whether to stay in the Iran deal. Now is the time for the President and Congress to take aggressive action and end the United States’ role in this “bad deal,” then take a tough approach to Iran that must include re-imposing stiff sanctions.
God bless you for joining with us in standing on behalf of our nation and the nation of Israel,
P.S. The “Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action” (JCPOA) deal with Iran that the Obama administration brokered was never in the best interests of the United States, Israel, or the Arab states. It’s time for the President and Members of Congress to withdraw from such a one-sided agreement.
