While Americans celebrate and scrutinize the historic deal President Trump signed with North Korea, the Israeli government may be about to make history, too.
Israel’s Knesset is on the brink of passing an Israeli version of the Taylor Force Act. If passed, a bill in the Knesset (Israel’s parliament) will penalize the Palestinian Authority (PA) for doling out lifetime salaries to killers who take the lives of Israeli and American civilians.
It’s shocking, but the PA paid terrorists $280 million last year–and it happened, as one Knesset member put it, “right under our noses.” The proposed Israeli law will deduct PA terror payments from the tax revenues Israel transfers to the PA.
The bill’s sponsor says it will fix a “historic injustice” and “reduce terrorism.” The Israeli Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee chairman said, “Israel will no longer be a pipeline for transferring money to terrorists.”
In 2016, a Palestinian brutally stabbed and killed American Taylor Force–a West Point grad who served in Iraq and was visiting Israel with his wife. That’s horrific. Here’s what makes it obscene:
Under Palestinian law, this killer’s family will collect a lifetime pension worth triple the average salary earned in the West Bank.
Here in the U.S., the just-passed Taylor Force Act calls for a halt to U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority (with few exceptions) until the PA stops paying for acts of terror like the attack which killed Taylor Force.
But there’s a problem with the law’s implementation.
We’re certain the Israeli government will do what the Knesset measure calls for, if the bill passes. It will punish the PA for funding terror. But that’s something, so far, the U.S. State Department has failed to do.
The Taylor Force Act required the State Department to report to Congress by May 22 what U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority it will nix because of PA funding to terrorists.
Yet that deadline came and went . . . with no report and no action from the State Department, which has long tilted toward the Palestinians and against Israel.
Will you join me in calling for action?
Christians in Defense of Israel is delivering our Fully Defund the Palestinians petition this week to the State Department, strongly urging it to comply with the Taylor Force Act.
We believe that Mike Pompeo, the recently installed Secretary of State and a pro-Israel leader can make a difference in an anti-Israel culture harbored inside the State Department. And your voice, added to thousands of others, will give him a much-needed boost.
+ + This is your final chance to be included in the important petition delivery!
The Palestinians have made no secret of their determination to continue rewarding terror attacks against innocent Israeli civilians with handsome cash payouts.
Please join me and thousands of other pro-Israel Americans in calling for a complete halt to all U.S. aid to the Palestinian Authority UNTIL there is accountability and a verifiable end to Palestinian payments to terrorists!
God bless you. God bless the USA. God bless Israel.
