“Obama, Israel, and a higher power.” (Liberty Counsel)

Is the idea that the people of Israel may be turning their security over to God rather than to continue relying on that provided by the United States a rejection of President Obama’s international socialist ideologies?

Author Bernie Quigley believes it is. Quigley wrote a recent blog posted on The Hill entitled “Obama, Israel, and a higher power.”  israel-moo-fb

He contends that “a new political generation” is rising in Israel, which is taking the nation to “psychological independence,” and a new level of “faith.”

Here are excerpts of his insight into a changing Israel…

“Israel, from its side, has become a more religious society — on Friday nights in Jerusalem now you barely see a car moving on the streets in Jewish neighborhoods, which only used to be the case on Yom Kippur — and the settlers are clearly more brazen,” [NY Times Columnist Thomas] Friedman writes.

It is President Obama’s worst nightmare. Israel is turning to the ‘higher power,’ as they call it in Alcoholics Anonymous. They are putting their faith in ‘faith’ instead of America. The demands we make of our satellites worldwide are legal and democratic. Faith brings an existential challenge to America’s global vision. Israel heads now perhaps in the direction of a Torah-oriented society, a society, which finds deeper meaning to its existence.

Moshe Feiglin, a new Knesset member who has long called for Israel to be ‘a Jewish state’ instead of a ‘state for Jews,’ is one of the leaders in Israel rising.

Recently, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) spoke at a dinner in support of Israel, which echoed some of Feiglin’s positions. ‘I don’t believe Israel even needs the United States of America,’ she told the roaring crowd. ‘Israel can be strong on her own.’

This is the key to awakening in Israel and must come to pass as Israel comes into its own. But something else she said is of great existential importance to Americans. Today she would ‘stand even against my own president if my president is standing against the Jewish state of Israel.’

Does a centralized, globalized American vision today stunt our own awakening? Does it inhibit and deny a higher power, which could bring us greater fulfillment as individuals and groups?

It is the most important question each individual will have asked since 1776: Do we ‘stand even against [our] own president’ if that president and his policies thwart the richer, fuller life; the fullest and richest life intended for all peoples?”

Will we choose faith in God over the security of our government?

I believe that the bottom line of Quigley’s reasoning is that “faith” in government has supplanted “faith” in God in America, while the opposite is taking place in Israel.

Israel is undergoing a spiritual awakening not unlike what we have been praying for in America. That awakening is making the Israelis less dependent on government for their wellbeing. They are also less dependent on their government and foreign powers, like the United States, for their security.

They have rightfully renewed their faith in the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Get the book that reveals the growing danger of radical Islamists and the infiltration of Sharia (the legal system supporting the religion of Islam) to Israel, the US, and the world.

Over the past several days, I have made you aware of an exclusive Liberty Counsel resource, which warns that the advancement of radical Islam and the infusion of Sharia into a nation threatens every freedom-loving country’s culture, system of justice, and religious freedom.

Our new Patriot’s Handbook on Sharia’s Threat to American Culture exposes the growing threat to America including segments on Sharia’s advancement worldwide – especially the threat to Israel. I’ve also written a special essay that is an overview of this growing threat. This valuable resource is yours for a gift of any amount with this offer!

Israel is now transitioning from the “State of Israel” to the “Nation-state of the Jews.”

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has declared that he wants to pass a “Basic Law” defining Israel as the nation-state of the Jews. We strongly endorse this declaration and will make that sentiment clear when we meet with Israeli leadership this week.

God willing, over the coming days here in Israel, Anita and I and the contingency of people from the Liberty Ambassador Counsel will experience afresh the renewal that is being fostered in the spiritual reawakening of the people of Israel.

Thank you for your prayers for safe travels and for our upcoming meetings with Israeli leaders.

God bless you! God bless America! God bless the people of Israel!
