SPLC “liked” by D.C. shooter (Liberty Counsel)

Friday Morning:

We are learning a good deal more about the D.C. shooter who intentionally targeted Republican members of Congress while they were practicing for their charity baseball game. James Hodgkinson — who shot and wounded Rep. Steve Scalise and four others — was an ardent Bernie Sanders supporter who also “liked” on Facebook a “Who’s Who” of far left organizations, including the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC).

And here’s where the story gets dangerous…

+ + SPLC’s “hate group” attacks put lives at risk!

As Breitbart reports, the SPLC “

had repeatedly implied that Scalise associated with white supremacists and other groups the organization had deemed ‘hate groups'” and even linked Scalise with David Duke and the KKK in one of its publications. This isn’t the first time a connection can be drawn between a gunman who “liked” SPLC and the intentional targeting of conservatives. In 2012, a gunman attacked the Family Research Counsel after he “did a little research” on the SPLC website and found the Christian organization listed as a hate group.

The fact is, the Southern Poverty Law Center’s aggressive “hate group” targeting of Christians and conservatives poses a real threat not only to our rights, but to our very lives!

And as you know, the SPLC has put both me, personally, and Liberty Counsel at the very center of its “hate group” targeting. The SPLC lists Liberty Counsel as a “hate group” on its website (alongside the KKK and white supremacist groups).

And now, the SPLC is serving as LEAD COUNSEL in a mega lawsuit designed to punish or destroy Liberty Counsel and remove me from this battle altogether. This lawsuit is about brandishing Liberty Counsel with the “HATE GROUP” label and imposing potentially crippling financial penalties because we dare to stand up to their bullying. And if we allow the SPLC’s labels to stick, our very lives can be at risk!

+ + Help me fight and defeat the SPLC’s outrageous attacks…

As I shared with you yesterday, Liberty Counsel is facing a budget shortfall as we come to the end of our fiscal year (June 30). We must meet this shortfall in order to ensure we can dedicate all the necessary resources to fight the SPLC assault and continue other key legal battles for liberty at full strength.

We are blessed that some friends have offered to Liberty Counsel a $125,000 Challenge Grant. But we still must raise an additional $125,000 by the end of this month to reach the Challenge Grant goal so we can have the funds to meet the fiscal year-end need while we fight off attacks from the SPLC and others.

I’m turning to you for help…

I’m asking you to prayerfully consider standing with Liberty Counsel right now to meet this critical June Challenge Grant so we can fight this attack from the SPLC and continue other important battles to “Save Liberty.” Please go here now to make your tax-deductible gift:

We must do whatever is necessary to defeat the SPLC’s legal attack on Liberty Counsel. We cannot allow their targeting to go unchallenged. Our liberties, and potentially even our lives, are at risk if we stay silent!

That’s why it is so critical that we meet this $125,000 Fiscal Year-End Challenge Grant. But we cannot meet this goal without friends like you going the “extra mile” with us.
Can I count on your support? Please prayerfully consider making a special gift by going here. As always, your contribution is tax-deductible. And please note that the impact of your gift will effectively be doubled by the generous challenge grant. These are perilous times. We simply must stand together against the rising tide of anti-Christian bigotry.

Thank you and may God richly bless you!
