The U.S. State Department has gone rogue against Israel regarding the instigation of terror against the Jewish people. An official State Department report wrongly blames Israel for fostering Palestinian terrorism against Israeli citizens. Incredibly, it portrays the Palestinian Authority as innocent bystanders to terror, and blames the Jewish State for stalling the peace process. Please see my message below on this disturbing report and consider responding to our call for action – Mat.

Dear Friend,

A misleading U.S. State Department report is under fire from a member of Congress for stunning allegations that Israel is to blame for acts of terrorism by the Palestinians against them.Rep. Peter Roskam (R-IL), co-chair of the House Republican Israel Caucus, strongly condemned the “Country Reports on Terrorism 2016” in a letter to Secretary to State Rex Tillerson calling their findings “mischaracterizations… which undermine the prospect for Israeli-Palestinian peace and wrongly blame Israel for Palestinian terrorism against Israeli civilians.” He called on the administration to immediately amend the report.

According to the congressman, their findings also “wrongly insinuates Israeli security measures on the Temple Mont and a stalled peace process as key forces behind terrorism.”

“Most egregiously, it portrays the PA [Palestinian Authority] as innocent peacemakers far removed from being the source of terrorist activity…. The PA does not only tolerate terrorist attacks against Israelis but it also incites, rewards, and memorializes those who carry out these horrific attacks.”

The Palestinian “Pay to Slay” policy is a well known fact and is currently the cause for congressional action against the Palestinian Authority through the Taylor Force Act. It is outlandish that the State Department would ignore this fact.

+ + Tell the State Department to “Get their facts straight before blaming Israel!”

Christians in Defense of Israel joins with Representative Peter Roskam in confronting the U.S. State Department for these “numerous mischaracterizations” in their findings and in call for the report to be amended to “accurately characterize and hold accountable the root causes of Palestinian violence – Palestinian Authority leadership.”

+ + The U.S. State Department is fostering animosity toward Israel!

We have come to expect false assertions and anti-Israel rhetoric originating with the United Nations and other foreign powers opposed to the Jewish state. But this malicious report came from our own State Department and asserts the opposite pro-Israel views of what President Trump has said in the past.

Join us in working to right this blatantly biased report that will certainly fuel further acts of terror and increase animosity toward the Jewish state.

This CIDI petition will be delivered to Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, key members of Congress, including Congressman Roskam, and Ron Dermer, Israel’s Ambassador to the U.S.

P.S. The Petition States:

We, America’s friends of Israel, are appalled by the findings contained in the State Department’s official “Country Reports on Terrorism 2016″ The report wrongly blames Israel for fostering Palestinian terrorism against Israeli citizens, portrays the Palestinian Authority as innocent bystanders to terror, and blames the Jewish State for stalling the peace process.

The report loses all credibility because it is a well-known fact that the Palestinian Authority encourages and rewards terrorism against Israeli citizens, as their law calls for “Pay to Slay” compensation to terrorists, martyrs, and their families.

We join with Representative Peter Roskam in challenging the U.S. State Department findings that blatantly include numerous mischaracterizations — and in calling for the report to be revised and accurately “characterize and hold accountable the root causes of Palestinian violence – Palestinian Authority leadership.”

We encourage Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to order and oversee the correction of the State Department’s biased findings.

As friends of Israel, we honor Israel as our greatest and most trusted friend and ally in the Middle East region. We acknowledge Jerusalem as Israel’s God-ordained, undivided capital. Contrary to opinions held by the United Nations and other international entities, Israel is not the so-called “occupying power” of the Promised Land.
