Tell the President to send a strong, clear message (CIDI)

May 12, 2017

From the desk of:
Mat Staver, President
Christians in Defense of Israel

On Tuesday, May 9, the White House honored Israel’s Independence Day for the first time ever. Vice President Mike Pence quoted Scripture when he spoke to about 40 to 50 Christian and Jewish leaders at the commemoration event. He also reinforced the Trump administration’s commitment to the Jewish state when he said, “The President has made it clear: America stands alongside Israel — as friends and as allies.”As the Israeli and American ambassadors looked on, Pence added that Mr. Trump is seriously considering moving the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Christians in Defense of Israel couldn’t agree more with that policy and location change. We believe moving the embassy to Israel’s rightful and eternal capital city would send a powerful message to the United Nations and the entire international community that Jerusalem and its holy sites belong to Israel!

Christians in Defense of Israel is fed up with the rampant anti-Semitism that has been on display repeatedly at the U.N. in recent years. But now that the anti-Israel administration of Barack Obama is no more, we’re counting on Mr. Trump to honor his campaign promise to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem without further delay.

Our hope is that the President announces during his visit to Israel later this month that the U.S. will finally move its embassy to Jerusalem. We also want to see Mr. Trump use his historic journey to the Holy Land to make a formal declaration that the American government recognizes all of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
