Thai boys out–Israeli tech plays crucial role (Christians in Defense of Israel)

Israeli tech played a key role in the just-announced rescue of all 13 people stranded inside a flooded cave in Thailand. At the same time, the UN wants to punish Israel with a dangerous blacklist of firms doing business inside Israel’s disputed territories. That’s why your voice is needed now! They’re out! You and I have been watching and praying for the 12 boys and their soccer coach trapped deep inside a cave in Thailand for more than two weeks. Just minutes ago, the last boy and the 25-year-old coach emerged from the flooded cave complex in which they were lost and stranded since June 23.

And one key reason they’re out is a sophisticated Israeli communication system donated to the rescue effort by Maxtech in Israel. The firm’s devices create their own voice, data and video link in places where no communication infrastructure exists and line-of-sight transmission is impossible.

“We are happy to be able to help,” said Maxtech CEO Uzi Hanuni who dispatched a worker with a suitcase full of his firm’s devices on June 25.

+ + UN seeks to punish Israel

But here’s the thing. At the same time Israeli innovation is helping the world and saving lives, the United Nations is working overtime to punish the Israeli economy.

The UN Human Rights Council–which lists human rights abusers Cuba, Venezuela, Saudi Arabia and China on its membership–is producing a blacklist of Israeli, American and other firms doing business inside Israel’s disputed territories.

The blacklist is an open threat designed to intimidate and scare businesses out of the region. And the UN Human Rights Commissioner says he may go public with the blacklist before September.

The Council’s goal is to support the BDS movement (boycott, divestment and sanctions), suppress business investment, and cripple the Israeli economy. But there is a solution.

In response to the UN’s economic assault on Israel and these corporations, both chambers of Congress are considering the Israel Anti-Boycott Act. The Act is a shield to protect American businesses, as well as Israeli firms and Israel itself, from international boycotts–including UN efforts to wage economic war on Israel.

The House Committee on Foreign Affairs passed the Israel Anti-Boycott Act (H.R. 1967) more than week ago. The bill now goes to the full House for a vote.

+ + Congress must act before the UN releases the blacklist threat!

Palestinian leadership is urging the UN to go public with the blacklist before September. And that could happen. That’s why we are calling on Congress and President Trump to act NOW and approve the Israel Anti-Boycott Act in order to protect American businesses from U.N. and international harassment.
Congressional action is needed before financial damage is done to American firms conducting business in Israel and grave harm is done to the Israeli economy.

The UN’s actions are misleading, harmful, and potentially crippling to the Israeli economy. And could stymie crucial innovation like the sophisticated Israeli devices used to rescue the boys in Thailand.

It’s critical you and I urge Congress now to pass the Israel Anti-Boycott Act. This bill is a vital safeguard for Israel and firms doing business in Israel’s disputed territories.

Because this measure may come before the full House soon, we need an additional 10,000 signers as quickly as possible. That’s why I’m asking you to make your voice heard now!

Thank you for taking immediate action on behalf of Israel and American businesses!

God bless you,

Mat Staver
