The suffering of the persecuted

I want to make sure you didn’t miss my important LRI update from earlier this week. Christians are under attack in the Middle East — both physically and spiritually. Liberty Relief International is committed to easing their suffering by partnering with like-minded, Christ-centered ministries on the front lines to provide humanitarian aid and discipleship materials for persecuted men, women, and children.

Please see my previous email below to learn how you can help feed these Christian brothers and sisters the Word of God. Or click here to take immediate action on their behalf — Mat.

From the Desk of:
Mat Staver, President

Dear Friend,

Late yesterday, Liberty Relief International (LRI) received an amazing update from one of our Christ-centered partners in the Middle East. It highlighted the danger and persecution facing Christians in Baghdad, Iraq. But surprisingly, the news they shared wasn’t all bad.

Given the ongoing turmoil in the region, you might expect to hear about how horrible things are for believers. Instead, we learned about churches behind concrete and barbed wire that are making an eternal impact for Jesus Christ.

“We are working to give them hope,” one church leader says. “Some people tell me, ‘You are giving us hope. You give us something that makes us happy again.’ This church almost closed, but it is once again full.”

For security reasons, we can’t reveal the names of these congregations in and around Baghdad. But they’re part of the MIRACLE HARVEST of souls that LRI has been telling you about for months now.

“We have new blood, born-again new believers,” a local pastor explains. Others say they see a great hunger among Muslims to know more about Jesus. “About 45 percent of my church now comes from a Muslim background,” says an anonymous church leader.Another local pastor adds: “People are impressed that Christians come to them, show them love and support them when they are from another religion.” One anonymous believer even says, “I (think) the future of the church will be with the Muslims who now wish to convert to Christianity. A Muslim who becomes a Christian has good faith and tells others about Christ.”

Amazing! Honestly, I probably wouldn’t believe these stories unless they came directly from such a trusted LRI ministry partner working on the front lines of the MIRACLE HARVEST in the Middle East. But this is really happening — and YOU can be a part of it!

+ + Feed Persecuted Christians And New Believers The Word Of God!

Over the past few months, LRI has been working to help provide Bibles to persecuted Christians, new believers, and spiritual seekers in countries ravaged by ISIS evil and devastated by civil war. Our Christ-centered partner can provide copies of God’s Word for just $5 each. We’ve been told time and again that the one thing new believers pray for most is a Bible.

An Iraqi Christian recently said this about Muslims leaving Islam and embracing faith in Christ: “They need the truth. They need real love. They need Bibles.” As I’ve mentioned previously, if new believers from Muslim backgrounds don’t receive active discipleship within six to twelve months, 75 percent of them return to Islam. The “Western Church” MUST do something to help these brothers and sisters grow in their newfound faith!

This month, LRI is trying to raise $20,000 over and above our normal operating expenses to support the MIRACLE HARVEST in the Middle East. But with less than a week left in July, we’re not even close to that goal. At our current pace, we’ll be $14,000 short! Please help feed the Word of God to persecuted Christians, new believers from Muslim backgrounds, and spiritual seekers who want to know more about Jesus. Click here to donate now.

Thank you, in advance, for carrying the light of Christ to dark places.

Mat

P.S. These churches behind concrete and barbed wire urgently need our support. Please help provide Bibles to persecuted Christians, new believers from Muslim backgrounds, and spiritual seekers in the Middle East. It costs our Christ-centered partner in the region about $5 to get a copy of God’s Word into the hands of someone who wants to know more about Jesus. You can make an eternal impact with a tax-deductible gift of $50 or $100 today.
