President Obama will address the nation on Wednesday night to share his plan to “degrade,” “shrink,” and “destroy” ISIS. While America’s “Golfer-in-Chief” told NBC News that his plan “is not the equivalent of the Iraq War,” the President’s strategy is expected to last beyond his stay in the White House. The New York Times reported yesterday:

“The Obama administration is preparing to carry out a campaign against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria that may take three years to complete, requiring a sustained effort that could last until after President Obama has left office.”

Three years is a very long time considering the havoc, despair, and brutality that ISIS has inflicted upon Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities over just the past few months. The extreme humanitarian crisis created by the terror group is a problem that won’t go away any time soon. In an email today, RUN Ministries president Eric Watt wrote:

We are in a war against evil in northern Iraq. As of last week, 697 families were under our care. RUN volunteers show every person they come into contact with love, care and compassion, while providing protection, shelter, food and water.

RUN’s two “Community of Hope” refugee camps each house 100 families or approximately 1,000 people. Another 5,000 are protected in safe homes, awaiting the funding for more camps to be built so they can live in peace.

RUN Ministries is committed to providing loving care, the Good News, safety, shelter, food and water for 21 days until we can help find a permanent place for these families. And with 20+ families coming out of northern Iraq every day (200-250 people), we still have much more to do!

So far, RUN Ministries’ network of believers in the Middle East has helped 7,000 people. But as Eric mentioned, that number keeps rising as more and more displaced Iraqi men, women, and children arrive in search of food, water, shelter, and protection.

Can you help — or further help — meet this overwhelming and constantly increasing need? If so, please click here or on the image below to support RUN’s ongoing rescue and relief efforts in northern Iraq:

RUN Ministries volunteers are risking their lives to continue this dangerous and lifesaving work. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support those who are standing in the gap for hundreds of families who have been forced from their homes and lost everything, even loved ones, to ISIS violence.

Even if you’ve already taken action to support RUN, thousands of displaced Iraqi Christians and other religious minorities still need your help. Every gift impacts this extreme, ongoing humanitarian crisis! Click here to make your best gift now.

Thank you for your continued prayer and financial support. God bless you!
