Who will rise up against the evildoers? (Liberty Counsel)

From the desk of:
Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman,
Liberty Counsel

Psalm 94:16 asks, "Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against the evildoers?" This scripture is a challenge to you and me to rise up against a growing contingent of powerful anti-faith groups.

Liberty Counsel is going up against a group of "evildoers" active in our nation today and we need your support and prayers more than ever.

Over the past few weeks, our Liberty Counsel legal team has been working overtime to push back against shocking and damaging attacks by the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), one of the most well-funded, powerful, and dangerous organizations operating in America today.

Their stated goal is to completely destroy their opposition, and they seek to do so by labeling Christian, pro-family, and conservative groups as "hate groups."

The SPLC legal team is also serving as lead counsel on a major lawsuit that has the clear goal of destroying Liberty Counsel. The very nature of this legal attack makes it one of the most serious threats to Liberty Counsel we have yet faced.

PLUS… right now there is an escalating threat to destroy Liberty Counsel by billionaire George Soros' new high-tech database targeting pro-family organizations.

On Friday, Liberty Counsel's legal team faced off in court against Planned Parenthood. Our client, Sandra "Susan" Merritt asked the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to uphold California law, protect her First Amendment rights, and order the trial court to dismiss Planned Parenthood's outrageous 15-count civil suit against her.

Planned Parenthood filed a retaliatory, 15-count civil suit against Merritt, seeking $16 million as punishment for her undercover investigation, which revealed and exposed the abortion mill's unethical and potentially illegal profiting from the sale of human baby body parts.

We may have to win this fight a dozen times or more to beat back all the attacks from Planned Parenthood and their allies. Our legal team is pulling out all of the stops to win this battle.

For every national level case that makes the news, Liberty Counsel's legal team is diligently working on hundreds of other caes at state and local levels, representing individuals who are being attacked for their core beliefs. That is especially true over the Christmas holidays.

We rely on faithful friends like you who make it possible for Liberty Counsel to defend Sandra and so many others at no cost to them.

As of this morning, we need at least $50,000 in funding by the end of the month to help us defend Sandra, take on the "Goliaths" of Planned Parenthood and the SPLC, and continue other key battles for faith and liberty.

Please prayerfully consider how you can help. Then, make your best tax-deductible gift to help Liberty Counsel fight back!

+ + Many more battles are on the horizon!

As our legal team confronts more and more examples of overt anti-faith bigotry, we're seeing a profound escalation of discrimination against Christians across the nation. You and I cannot allow the criminalization of Christian beliefs and the purging of biblical ideals from our society to happen on our watch!

Standing with Liberty Counsel gives you a voice to keep America from slipping further into moral decline. Your gifts equip us to fight for the restoration of the Constitution's guarantee of religious liberty and right of conscience upon which America was founded.

Liberty Counsel must be ready to respond immediately on behalf of people like Sandra Merritt, Kim Davis, and so many others who, because of their stand for faith, family, natural marriage, and the safety of their children, face legal assaults.

That's why your support is so critical.

Thank you and may God richly bless you!

P.S. We need thousands of Liberty Counsel team members partnering with us right now. Every gift will help tremendously! As always, your gift to Liberty Counsel is tax-deductible.
